Torqeedo hits the ground running with the new Cruise T introducing the next generation of leading edge e-outboards.

Perfect for dinghies as well as motor boats and sailboats up to 4 tons. The new tiller-controlled Cruise T outboard has been completely revamped for the coming season – and runs better than ever before, helping Torqeedo to extend its lead in the development of innovative, high-tech outboard motors.

You need to hold on tight once the new generation of tiller-controlled e-outboards really get going. Fast, more powerful and more attractive than ever, the new Cruise 4.0 T as 8 HP equivalent (top speed: 12 knots or 23 km/h) can get tenders planing and can move even sailboats easily out of port.

Unlike its predecessor model, the new compact Cruise 2.0 T and 4.0 T outboards – incidentally like all other Torqeedo products – are protected even against complete submersion (IP67) and thus ideal for cruising in seawater.

Like all other Torqeedo outboards, the two new Cruise motors are also equipped with an integrated on-board computer. Founder and CEO Dr Christoph Ballin says of this innovation, "It's only logical that we extend this unique feature of our outboards to our complete range of products. The information display in the new Cruise T's tiller provides constant information on battery charge status, speed over ground, input power and, most importantly, remaining range. This means you can be sure that you'll get to where you want to go."

The two Cruise models can also continue to claim to offer superior overall efficiency – the Cruise still gets more range from a bank of batteries than any other outboard motor. And despite all its power, it remains a lightweight – the 2.0 T model weighs just 17.5 kg with a short shaft, while the short-shaft version of the 4.0 T comes in at just18.3 kg. However, weight is not the only indicator for easy handling and convenience. Thanks to the cable set including fuse and main switch that comes as standard, you can simply plug it in – and play.

Depending on the model, the high-tech outboard needs one or two Power 24-3500-series lithium batteries that Torqeedo also offers in its product range. As an alternative, the outboard can of course also be powered by AGM or lead-gel batteries.
