Cable connections and cable sets
Torqeedo cable connections and cable sets need to handle peak currents of over 80 A. For example, the current with the Cruise 2.0 model, with an input power of 2,000 W and a voltage of 24 V, is about 83 A. This is why Torqeedo cable connections and sets have a cross sectional area of 35 mm². With 5 m of cable between motor and battery, the cable losses are about 17 W. In the case of the Torqeedo Cruise 2.0, this corresponds to a loss of 3.4 W per metre of cable and 0.8 of the overall power figure. Losses are minimized, improving the efficiency of the overall system and enhancing safety levels as higher losses lead to a risk of local overheating.
