Torqeedo 2019

For the first time in the U.S., Torqeedo shows its full new line of electric boating products at the 2019 Miami International Boat Show.

Miami, Fla. USA (February 13, 2019)

Torqeedo’s full line of electric boating products will be on display in the Engines Tent booth F616 at the Miami International Boat Show. The show will take place on Virginia Key from February 14-18.

Torqeedo continues to drive electric mobility on the water with Deep Blue 100 i, two new 100 kW inboard motors premiering in Miami. These innovative direct-drive motors are fully integrated into the Deep Blue and Deep Blue Hybrid drive systems and are available as a low-rpm version for displacement boats and high-rpm for planing boats. Torqeedo will also display the new Deep Blue 40 kWh battery featuring technology by BMW i, 30% more capacity in the same footprint, and an energy density of 144 Wh per kg.

Countless innovations in recent years

The 30% increase in capacity also applies to Torqeedo’s 24 V lithium-ion batteries with the new Power 24-3500, which delivers up to 3,500 Wh of power for electric boating or house loads. The new pack tips the scales at just 55.8 lbs and retains its previous footprint and features, including Torqeedo’s 5-stage safety system, waterproofing, and full integration with the Cruise motor’s onboard computer.

Visitors to booth F616 can try the new direct-drive, 1,100 W addition to the globally successful Travel series of clean, emission-free outboards. The Travel 1103 C is the quietest motor in its class and boasts a heavy-duty design. Just like the market-favorite Travel 1003, which remains the lightest and easiest-to-handle 3 HP-equivalent outboard, the new 1103 C is suitable for boats up to 1.5 tons.

2019’s Ultralight 403 A offers a host of practical new features for hands-free kayak fishing, including easy mounting, quick motor depth adjustment, and a lightning-fast way to safely stow the motor for transport or remove it altogether.

High-capacity batteries from BMW i series

Torqeedo-powered boats on display will include the Volt 180 by Canadian Electric Boat Company, which features a Deep Blue 50 kW outboard drive with high-capacity batteries by BMW i. The 18-footer has a spacious, open interior with seating for up to 12 and can also be fitted with Torqeedo’s 8 HP-equivalent Cruise 4.0 motor for a clean and quiet harbor or canal cruiser. The Volt 180 can be viewed in dock space #206.

Nova Luxe has designed the ideal electric tender for the Aquila 44, the first in its line of sustainable electric power catamarans. The tender is powered by a Cruise 10.0 outboard with two Power 48-5000 lithium-ion batteries and will be viewable at dock space #205. Its innovative charging suitcase allows owners to charge easily from the yacht’s onboard energy supply or connect to shore power.

Beneteau is displaying two new sailboats for 2019, the First 18 and the First 27. Both are both powered by Torqeedo electric outboards and may be viewed in dock #741. Greenline Yachts will exhibit their line of sustainable yachts available with 100% electric propulsion, including the Greenline 39 and the Greenline NEO. Please visit the Torqeedo booth F616 for information on additional electric boats on display.
