Dr. Friedrich Böbel (44) is founder and managing partner of the Torqeedo GmbH, which is headquartered in Starnberg (Germany) and specialises in electric propulsion systems for the boat market.

Before the forming of the company in 2005, he was responsible for over three years as operations director at the Gardena AG for the following areas: Production, logistics, purchasing, research and development, IT, organisation, OEM customers and project management. As managing director of the Müller Group, the physicist and doctoral engineer bore the overall responsibility for production and engineering, supply chain, quality, research and development as well as the foreign business in Great Britain from 1999 to 2002 with the Molkerei Alois Müller GmbH & Co KG [dairy products].

From 1995 to 1999 Dr. Friedrich Böbel was employed with the Infineon Technologies AG. As vice-president of production, he was lastly responsible for strategic production management. The family father accumulated initial professional experiences from 1990 to 1995 as group manager for the areas semiconductor manufacturing electronics and synergetic computers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuitry.

Dr. Christoph Ballin (37) is responsible at the Torqeedo GmbH as managing partner for marketing and distribution.

Before joining the Starnberg-based enterprise in 2006, the doctoral businessman was responsible as managing director of the Gardena Deutschland GmbH for sales and profit performance of the Gardena business in the German market.

Before his employment with Gardena, Dr. Christoph Ballin started his career with the management consultancy McKinsey & Company, Inc.

Lastly in the position of project manager, the main emphases of his consulting activity were on sales and marketing topics in the consumer goods industry as well as in distributive trades.
